Head of AI

Serj Fedik

I bring AI into departments and measure the result. I start with the routine work employees do by hand.

Talk through my case

How I bring AI into a department

What role should AI play in your company to deliver measurable financial results? We start with a department where employees handle routine tasks. Then we work with each person.

several dozenpeople trained inside the company

Every step is guided by a skill I built in an AI system: it prepares questions for each meeting, keeps a file on everyone, mapped to the org chart, and stops the work from drifting off course.

  1. 01 assessmentA digital literacy test. Without it you don’t know what level of skills you will be working with
  2. 02 first meetingAn hour with each person: what they do, where it hurts, which routines take longest. Recording, transcript, conclusions.
  3. 03 second meetingStep-by-step work with every employee. Task by task: what we optimize and what we leave, when and how we measure.
  4. 04 head of departmentI ask the head of the department last. The gap between their picture and the department’s picture is the key finding.

What stays with you

  1. 01Each employee’s level and who to start with
  2. 02A list of the department’s longest routine tasks
  3. 03A task plan and the date of the first measurement
  4. 04Places where the department works differently from what its head thinks

ATLAS PANEL

A company management panel for businesses whose data is scattered across a dozen systems. An analytics factory that lets leadership make faster and more accurate decisions

Where the name comes from
ATLAS is a map you navigate by. PANEL is like a house built from panels, where each panel is a separate dashboard.
How it started
It began with a personal need - to consolidate data from spreadsheets, digitize processes and visualize them in a way that worked for me. Then managers stopped entering contracts by hand. Next came the counterparty register, distributor portals, and eventually the whole company - from production to education.
Timeline
A first working prototype for several departments: 1-2 months. The full system: from 3 months.
Who builds it
I lead the architecture, logic and development myself. Integrations and design are done by trusted contractors.

Who

Serj Fedik by a wall of suspended 3D letters, arms crossed

Founder of ATLAS PANEL. I went from manager to chief operating officer.

Process technologist: an engineer by mindset, a manager by experience.

Strategy + AI systems: I look at where a machine can replace a written procedure and where it only gets in the way.

I choose the tool to fit the process.

Risks and how I handle them

  • Risk 01

    Employees resist

I explain to each person that AI takes their Groundhog Day away: tasks that repeat and stopped being interesting long ago.

  • Risk 02

The head sees the process differently from the department

I ask the head last. The gap between their picture and the department’s picture is the main finding.

  • Risk 03

It is unclear whether the rollout paid off

At the second meeting we decide what to optimize and when to measure. The result is a number before and after.

Who I don’t work with

  • I don’t take a project if I can’t talk to the people who do the work by hand: a panel built from one manager’s account shows only that manager’s idea of the process.
  • I don’t take “set up a CRM in a week” orders: implementation is two months of close work together with the department.
  • People who are sceptical about AI and don’t want to find out what it offers.

I reply within a day. The first step is a call or an in-person meeting.

08 since 2026 Head of AI, strategic initiatives

SEKTA (formerly Hair Sekta), Moscow

I bring artificial intelligence into departments and teach people to use it. Processes that lived in spreadsheets and managers’ heads have become modules of the company management panel. Most of them had never been written down before. I systematized the company’s data and knowledge and turned it into the ATLAS x SEKTA product (an analytics factory for internal use)

07 2022 - 2026 From launching production to COO

SEKTA (formerly Hair Sekta), Moscow

I ran the company, and when it grew into dozens of departments and several business lines, I focused on operations: tuning processes where general management is no longer enough. A separate story is cosmetics production. The founder bought a reactor for cooking the product, and finding the site and organizing the space and the work were on me: I found the premises, we bought the rest of the equipment, built a team, found a chemist-technologist, developed the formulas and tested them with our stylists in our own salons. Today it is our own full-cycle production in Moscow, about 3,000 m². The company grew from five people to ~300 and reached over 1 billion rubles in revenue across several business lines.

06 2019 - 2022 Moving to Moscow: opening and running a salon

SEKTA, Moscow

I moved to Moscow to open a salon and run it, and was there at the very start of SEKTA (formerly Hair Sekta). I ran the salon from the renovation stage: overseeing the works, fitting it out, hiring and training the team, coordinating and managing it. I built the salon’s processes end to end. That is where my path inside one company began: salon manager, then company manager.

05 2017 - 2019 SMM agency and training courses

Rostov-on-Don

I started as a stylist: an all-round hairdresser diploma, from assistant to stylist at Hair Sekta. Then a rented studio and working for myself. After that I opened an SMM agency and ran social media for restaurants and beauty businesses. More than 50 people completed my Instagram* course “Insta Ispoved” (“Insta Confession”).

* Instagram is owned by Meta Platforms Inc., which has been designated an extremist organization and banned in Russia.

04 2014 - 2017 Brand manager

Academy of Scientific Beauty, Rostov-on-Don

Device-based cosmetology, with training on the equipment in Spain, then hair: Italian extensions, keratin, collagen, hair botox and repair. A representative office of a few people. The first place where I saw a process whole, from idea to shelf. Six months in, the product started working for me: leads came in on their own and the sales plan closed quickly. The evenings this freed up went into training as a hairdresser.

03 2011 - 2013 Accounting

Roslogistika, Rostov-on-Don

From staff accountant to deputy chief accountant. I know the transport business from the inside: I kept the books on work with clients, carriers and our own fleet, and each of them runs by its own rules.

02 2007 - 2009 Business education

Russian School of Management

In my third year at university I took their course “Advertising That Sells” and stayed on to work there as a regional representative and training organizer. Negotiations, contracts, groups of entrepreneurs. And then I sat in the audience and listened to people who had already achieved results.

01 2004 - 2010 University

DSTU, Rostov-on-Don

Applied informatics in management. My thesis was about a dairy plant: how to plan capacity by season so that the plant makes more ice cream in summer and more fermented milk products in winter. In effect, more than ten years ago I laid down the logic of what I do today

Notes full of ideas pile up for years and are worth nothing until one of them becomes a working thing.

When the tool appeared, I built my personal operating setup and tools for daily work on it that same day.
